Over eight days, anglers rotate through five completely different rivers, fishing for trophy brown trout, sea-run trout, and Arctic char in a structured, fully guided format. Based out of Árnes Lodge with full catering, this trip offers a balanced mix of spring creek water, clear spring-fed systems, canyon structure, lake-connected beats, and coastal river energy, all in one itinerary.

This programme is designed for anglers who want variety, exploration, and access to the best early-season water North Iceland has to offer.

Tuesday, 14 April — Arrival & Opening Session

Pickup in Akureyri airport and head over to Árnes lodge
Afternoon Fishing: Laxá í Aðaldal – Mýrarkvísl

Wednesday, 15 April — Multi-River Rotation

Morning: Mýrarkvísl – Brunná í Öxafirði –Litlaá & Skjálftavatn –
Afternoon: Mýrarkvísl – Brunná í Öxafirði – Litlaá  Skjálftavatn

Thursday, 16 April — Multi-River Rotation

Morning: Laxá – Mýrarkvísl – Litlaá & Skjálftavatn
Afternoon: Mýrarkvísl  – Litlaá & Skjálftavatn – Laxá í Aðaldal

Friday, 17 April — Multi-River Rotation

  • After the morning session guests will have lunch at the lodge and then transported to Akureyri airport

Over the eight days anglers will have the opportunity to fish for trophy brown trout, Arctic char and sea trout. 


Rod Rotation Overview

To ensure equal access to prime water, anglers rotate daily between:
    • Laxá í Aðaldal

    • Mýrarkvísl

    • Litlaá & Skjálftavatn

    • Reykjadalsá

    • Brunná

Structure

    • 12 rods total

    • Daily guided sessions (1 guide per 2 anglers)

  • Equal rotation so all guests fish all rivers

Mýrarkvísl

Mýrarkvísl boasts a unique blend of tranquility and excitement for anglers of all levels. This relatively small river is renowned for its abundant stock of brown trout

Laxá in Aðaldal

The River Laxa stands out not only as one of Iceland’s premier salmon rivers, boasting impressive salmon sizes, but it also holds a global reputation as one of the finest brown trout rivers.

Litlaá

Litlaá is one of Iceland’s most distinctive rivers, known for its geothermal springs, clear water, and diverse fish population. It offers exceptional opportunities for brown trout, sea trout, and Arctic char fishing.

Brunná

River Brunná in Öxarfjordur is a gin clear arctic char and sea trout river on the north/east coast of Iceland. This spectacular river Brunná flows through wonderful surroundings, offering areas of unique beauty and diversity.

Reykjadalsá

Reykjadalsá River, nestled in the heart of Northern Iceland, is renowned for its abundant stock of brown trout and increasing runs of salmon during the summer months.
