Laxá in Aðaldal

Laxá in Aðaldal is a renowned salmon river most famous for it’s large multi winter salmon. If you’ve come to Iceland to try to catch a 20 lbs + salmon this is the right place to be. The river is fairly large on Icelandic standards and most often fished with a double handed rod. The average catch per year is around 1600 salmon although the numbers have declined in the last few years.

We proudly now offer tours to all the salmon fishing beats on the Laxá in Aðaldal, The Nes beat, The Laxamýri Beat & the Árbót beat along with the tributary Mýrarkvísl.

Lodge

There are two fishing lodges on the River Laxá. There is Árnes lodge and the Vökuholt in laxamýri. Árnes lodge offers a comfortable lounge and big dining room. It has eight double rooms with ensuite bathrooms and two single rooms that share a bathroom. On the terrace is a hot tub, witch is great after a good day of chasing Atlantics. Excellent chefs prepare delicious three course meals for the guests.

At Vökuholt there are facilities for 24 people in 12 double rooms, each with ensuite bathrooms. The lodge has a large dining room, and anglers can relax in the comfortable guest lounge. There is a great view from the lodge in all directions.
