Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

1. Purpose of the Policy
The purpose of this policy is to affirm the company’s commitment to preventing modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and any form of exploitation within our operations and throughout our supply chain.
This policy is established in accordance with the requirements of American Express, relevant international legislation, and recognised ethical standards in the travel and tourism industry.
2. About the Company
Iceland Fishing Guide and its affiliated brands (Icelandic Adventures, Iceland Hunting Guide, and Fluguveidi.is) operate guided tours, fishing experiences, adventure tourism, and related services. Our work involves cooperation with a wide range of suppliers, subcontractors, landowners, accommodations, and service providers in Iceland and abroad.
We place strong emphasis on integrity, safety, respect, and transparency in all business practices.
3. Our Commitment
The company commits to:

ensuring that no form of modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking is present in our organisation,
-
carrying out appropriate due diligence on suppliers and partners,
-
preventing any mistreatment or exploitation of employees, contractors, or individuals connected to our services,
-
promoting fair and responsible business behaviour across our value chain.
We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of exploitation.
4. Employment and Labour Standards
We ensure that:
-
all staff work voluntarily and are not subjected to coercion,
-
no employee is forced to pay recruitment fees or surrender identity documents,
-
employment contracts are clear, fair, and legally compliant,
-
wages, working hours, and conditions meet Icelandic law and collective agreements,
-
all workers have the legal right to work in Iceland.
5. Suppliers and Partner Organisations
We expect all suppliers and partners to:
-
comply with applicable laws and international human rights standards,
-
refrain from any form of modern slavery or forced labour,
-
maintain fair working conditions and ethical labour practices,
-
demonstrate transparency in their own supply chains.
We reserve the right to:
-
refuse to work with suppliers who do not meet these standards,
-
terminate relationships where breaches or credible concerns arise.
6. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
We conduct periodic risk assessments to identify areas of higher exposure, such as:
-
subcontracted services, seasonal labour,
-
cleaning, maintenance, IT, transportation,
-
suppliers based outside Iceland.
Follow-up actions are taken where needed to reduce or eliminate risk.
7. Reporting and Response to Concerns
Any suspicion or report of modern slavery or trafficking is taken extremely seriously.
Upon receiving a concern, we will:
-
review and investigate the issue promptly,
-
suspend cooperation with the relevant party where necessary,
-
take corrective action or terminate relationships if misconduct is confirmed,
-
notify authorities where legally required.
Employees and partners are encouraged to report concerns confidentially without fear of retaliation.
8. Training and Awareness
We provide ongoing awareness to staff, guides, and operational partners regarding:

human rights,
-
labour standards,
-
ethical conduct,
-
the prevention and identification of exploitation.
9. Monitoring and Review
This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if legislation, operational needs, or partner requirements (including those from American Express) change.
10. Publication and Approval
This policy is available to:
-
employees,
-
contractors and guides,
-
suppliers and partners,
-
card payment networks and acquiring banks.
